Nicky Romero & ZROQ - WTF? (Original mix) - Electro House

That sample is just golden.  The expression just never gets old!

This song brings together very clear and classic examples trance chords and electro wobble base.  There's also a Progressive House beat to wrap it all together.

LAZRtag - Jump - Electro House

This song is actually 3 different remixes, but it's all awesome all the same..
1st is original, 2nd is james egbert, 3rd is candyland.

I'm personally preferring the 2nd or the james egbert remix.

Joe Garston - Random Hero - Electro House

It's Joe again, with random hero.

I think that the melody carries it all on this song...

Pendulum - The Island (Shreddie Mercury Remix) - Electro House

Sheddie Mercury brings back a classic.  Everyone loved the island.

I like those repeating chords he used around the long singing parts.  The original didn't have anything there by the words before and that helped the song along.

However, I'm kinda missing the amazingly awesome strong melody line from the original.  That line totally made the whole song in the original version.

I was kinda hopin to see that pop up in this remix, but that's okay.  If I want the melody I can just listen to the original island.  I came here to listen to something new.

Pegboard Nerds - Disconnected - Electro House

"This one is just making me happy and it's pretty catchy in my opinion"
-Brett

Why yes, Brett.  I do so happen to agree!  I'm absolutely lovin the first part but, the dubstep part...  it's just kinda ok...

Schoolboy - Zombies Ate My Neighbours (Original Mix) - Electro House

I think the name speaks for itself...

And no, I refuse to acknowledge this as moombahcore/moombahton.  It's all about the beats.

Overwerk - House feat. Nick Nikon- Electro House

Overwerk has made it to Monstercat, for those who didn't know already.

Here's his first song with the cat, It's good but, I honestly think it's a little too safe unlike my favorite from him: buzzin.  Plus, it's not free.  I'm pretty broke right now.

Archie - Mystro - Progressive House

It's Free!!!
Archie - Mystro

*Update* This blog is now ad free, and probably will stay that way... One of my friends had spammed click ads and gave me a  Ad Click to Blog View ratio of 133%.  Google noticed and took down my ads and $1.06 that he generated.  lololol

So I Think Archie got rid of the "V" in his name, what's up with that?

This song is just Ok, I think he's getting away from his original strong melodies, but hey. its free.

Laidback Luke feat. Chuckie & Martin Solveig - 1234 (Original Mix) - Progressive House

The repeated "up" sample at the beginning kinda annoyed me the first time I've heard this song, but the tune just kinda stuck on me...

I don't know how to quite explain it.  It feels catchy, but at the same time it's also not quite one of my favorites. pretty close though.

Super8 & Tab - Awakenings (Tritonal Remix) - Trance/Progressive House

It's kinda tough to find any good trance songs these days...

Check out the original version as well, it's good too, but I happen to like tritonal's better.
Probably because this is closer to true trance than progressive trance.

tyDi feat. Tania Zygar - Why Do I Care (Clashback Remix) - Progressive House

The original is a trance song but everyone says this version is so much better.

We have some nice rhythms thrown in there with a very trance influenced melody.  The Vocals seem to add very much to a Trance effect.

Endoriazel - Sunrise - Trance

It's Free!
Endoriazel - Sunrise

There's a lot of free trance out there, but this one has more interesting chord sequence than the others that I've seen around.

deadmau5 - The Veldt - Progressive House

Here we have one of the mau5's newer songs, only about 2 months ago...
You can see he's moving towards more progressive house styles now, but still repetitive...

deadmau5... *Yawn*

deadmau5 - Some Chords - Electro House

Deadmau5?  Yeah, maybe he's a bit too "mainstream" for most of you guys by now.  Honestly, I really didn't like him all that much when I got into this muzik stuffs...

This song is just like his other ones.  Almost all of them are Electro House, but very repetitive.  If I put more of his songs on my ipod, I'd probably be bored to death.  His songs put me to sleep.

But, that certainly doesn't mean that it's a bad song.  It has it's place.  In fact, almost all songs have their place in my opinion.  Dubstep requires more of your attention, it's especially popular for gameplay montages.  While I like to consider House true dance music because it's so easy to groove to (or even just headbob).
Drum and bass has it's big place in running/parkour, and Trance is good for raves since most of them are just jumping around and on ecstasy.

It wasn't until later that I realized this song's place.  Actually, it explains everything.
I put on this song during an English essay that I put off one day.  It was like 3:00 in the morning or something, and this song just allowed me to power through.  Excellent computer work/thinking music.

While I'd probably not put it on my Ipod, I would certainly listen to it again through you tube.  It certainly explains why his songs have so many views.

Because of this, I suppose Deadmau5 is overrated since youtube views are a huge measure of song popularity.  However, I still think it's darn good music.  I'm just not going to buy it.

Right now I probably only have like 3 deadmau5 songs on my Ipod.  Ghosts n stuff, moar ghosts, and I remember (because of Goldeneye 007 nightclub).

Imogen Heap - Hide and seek (ozo remix) - Progressive House

Gloving is absolutely ridiculous.  In a good way.

Tristam & Rogue - Flamewar - Electro House/Dubstep

It's free!  Once again, you have to like their page.
https://www.facebook.com/RogueUK?v=app_178091127385

Oh look, more vocals.  But they're cool and short, don't worry.  I think they insert very nicely into the song, especially after the 1st drop at 1:22.  "I'm not afraid" breaks the drumline and is followed by chords.

This isn't true dubstep.  What I find very intersting is how it's straight up electro house at the 1st drop.
At the 2nd drop, by now the song has sped up at it's break or bridge, what ever you want to call it.  It goes into 2 step in a dubstep style BPM and half time, but the actual drum rhythms are too simplistic to be called dubstep.

Tristam & Rogue - Reactions - Electro House

It's Free!  You just gotta like their Facebook page.
Tristam and Rogue - Reactions

Right from the start we get some Ghosts Synth going for the whole song.  The melody line at the drop is the same throughout the whole entire song with no variations until the second verse, I kinda wish they could have done something with it.  It just kinda seems a little stagnant the whole song.

But, hey.  As long as it's melody is catchy enough, it can still be a good song.  That's what happens in progressive house, anyway.

Project 46 & Gemellini - Crazy feat. Corinne Lee - Progressive House

Here we have some very nice vocal Progressive House.  Normally I hate singing but the vocals feel like a necessary and helpful part of the song and also allow the main melody of the song to sing out as well.

Project 46 & Gemellini - Deadline - Progressive House

This song really starts off heavy on the piano.
It's just another good catchy house tune.

Obsidia - Oblivion - Dubstep

This song makes me want to make a montage or something.  Maybe it's the deep gauntlet "Oblivion" voice sample but, to me the 1:43 synth definitively reminds me of a full auto machine gun/assault rifle fired in that montage.  I'm visualizing it synchronized with the music.

It's a very simple but powerful, driving song.  That is dubstep.

Resonate - Pump It - Electro House

I love those alternating melodies inserted into these phases.  Throughout the whole song it's like, Big chord, then a nice high electro melody.  It just keeps the rhythm of this song very steady and groovable.

Just awesome, but maybe a bit too short...

EnrightBeats - Need You - Dubstep

It's Free!!!
EnrightBeats - Need You

While it is listed in the Dubstep Genre, I sense a whole lot of Swing from this track.  If you even just listen to the bass drum line at 1:39 you'll see loads of swing and shuffle beats that just make this track shine.

Project 46 - Iceberg - Progressive House

Project 46 here with a Rockin track!
A lot of people say that it sounds like Levels by Avicii, but I honestly think there are songs that are closer...  it still sounds similar though....

It's Free!!!
Project 46 - Iceberg

I don't feel like saying anything about this...  it just kinda sounds like levels...

Rogue - This Is It - Moombahcore

Hai there, sorry for posting so late...  I'm pretty busy today, and Kind of in trouble.

After going to a friend's Boy scouts eagle court of honor (a celebration for eagle scout),  my parents realized how dire my situation is to not being able to make eagle.  So... now I have all nighter eagle writing to do...

well, at least there's leftover pizza and a thermos full of english tea for me...  looks like I'll be set for the night.

Anyways, about the song.  This was pulled from the elite playlist because I'm tied up right now.
It's one of my long time favorite songs and the 2nd Moombah song I really liked.  It really swayed me to start listening to moombah.

It's Free!
Rogue - This Is It

the soft repeating synth at the very start of the song is perfect as an under layer to the other tones when ever the dubstep part is away.

I love the chords even that start at 0:10.  They are undertones to the music and Ghosty at first but pop out after the build up in 0:53, nicely mixed in with the dubstep bass and wobbles.

Normally I don't like autotuned voices at all, but Rogue just places them so perfectly at 0:20 and throughout the song.  they are nicely showcased at 3:50 as well..

Beats.  Of course I like that moombah beat in 0:17.   That 2:22 beat is something a bit new, interesting but easy to catch cause its a short repeating pattern.

3:36 has piano elements.  Nice.  it's showing to have a little bit of everything, isn't it?

Just like at 5:27.  Awesome.....

Modestep - Show Me a Sign - Dubstep

Awesome, freakin epic music video.
The song is just okay to me...  Not great, but okay.

This reminds me of Ninja Turtles.  Actually, it kinda makes me sad that this is what ninja turtles could have been like by now...
Awesome Comic Style videos...

I Loled at 2:25, That exactly how I feel about American Idol.  It needs to be destroyed!

about the song, I think it is nice that it switches to Drum n Bass at 4:24

Shapes Of Light - Shapshifter - Progressive House

Trance Chords at 0:30.  And some other tricks that everyone has already seen.

Eh, it's an okay song.  It just kinda fits in with all the other progressive house cliches and common instruments.  Nothing too exciting about it.

Project 46 - M.O.A.B. - Progressive House

It's Free!!!!!

M.O.A.B = Mother Of All Beats?

Project 46 Serves up some pretty nice Progressive House.
Nothing really jumps out at me on this song, it's just kinda nice and easy...

Plus, I'm pretty busy.  Just needed to throw somthin out here.
